We’re super stoked to be back at the Polish Hall for our Comedy Competition. This year, we’ve opened the competition up to Professional Comedians as well as our Rising Stars. As always, entry is FREE. Come hungry, as the Polish Hall offers very affordable dinner before the show and great drink prices too! Every week will feature 5 Professional Comedians and 3 Rising Stars… all competing for a chance to win $10,000 at our Gala.

Each and every year, hundreds of comedians apply to our Rising Star Contest.
This year, our Rising Star winner will secure a spot in our $10,000 Contest Finale at the Sanderson Centre on Saturday, September 24th.
At our Rising Stars Finale, you’ll get to see the top comedians from our contest compete for a chance win $10,000 on Saturday.
Not only will you be treated to a great show from our contestants, you’ll also be treated to a special guest headliner — you just never know who might show up.
Tickets are $15/each or you can reserve a full table of 10 for $150 and sit together.
The Brantford Comedy Festival, founded in 2010 by local entrepreneur Jamie Stephens, has become a world-class entertainment event bringing some of the biggest names in comedy to Brantford. The 2015 Festival features three signature events; The Rising Star Competition, The Rising Star Finale, The Gala Evening held at the Sanderson Centre for Performing Arts and the newly added VIP After-Party.
The Festival is known for introducing new and hidden gems in Canadian talent. The Rising Star Competition offers amateur comedians the opportunity to compete for the privilege to perform as the Opening Act for the Gala Evening. Finalists compete at the Rising Star Finale in front of an audience of 300+ people and includes a professional special-guest headliner.
The Gala Evening held at the Sanderson Centre is consistently a SOLD OUT event with a crowd of 1,125. This premier event has welcome some of the best Canadian comedians to Brantford including Jon Dore, Debra Digiovanni, Tom Green, Sean Cullen, Nikki Payne, Derek Edwards.Debra McGrath, Colin Mochrie and most recently Jeremy Hotz.

The Brantford General is a 250+ bed, acute care facility, providing all of Brantford and Brant County’s specialty programs and services for our 120,000+ residents. The Willett, Paris is a multiservice healthcare centre with a daily Urgent Care department as well as a state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging Service.
The Brant Community Healthcare System is a regional centre for Paediatrics, Mental Health, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, CT Scanning, Critical Care, Surgical Services, Ambulatory Care and Emergency Medicine. We are also the site of the Brant Community Cancer Clinic and the SC Johnson Dialysis Clinic for patients throughout Brant County and Haldimand-Norfolk.
We have more than 175 physicians and 26 members of the department of Dentistry using our facilities. In addition, we employ over 1250 highly trained staff and have more than 500 dedicated volunteers at our sites.
